The Second Language Research Forum (SLRF) is an internationally recognized conference that brings together second language acquisition (SLA) researchers from around the world.
This is one of the leading SLA conferences in North America, providing a venue where established researchers as well as graduate students can present their work on a wide variety of theoretical and empirical issues in SLA, including cognitive, linguistic and sociolinguistic research conducted both in the laboratory and in the classroom.
This year, the University of Montréal is hosting SLRF in collaboration with MonISLA!

Calls for proposals will be accepted until 15 March 2026.
The SLRF accepts submissions for individual presentations and posters.

Instructions for individual presentations
An author may submit only one paper or poster as first author, but may also be a presenter/co-author of other papers or posters. All submissions must be completely anonymised, with all references to institutions and presenters removed.
Instructions for individual papers or posters
Individual paper sessions should be designed for a 20-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute question and answer/discussion period.
Proposals for individual papers or posters must complete the information on the submission form, including:

A title (maximum 15 words)
-
Keywords (maximum 3 keywords)
-
An abstract (maximum 50 words)
-
A proposal (maximum 350 words)
Evaluation of proposals
Only proposals submitted in accordance with the above guidelines will be evaluated. Those that do not meet the criteria will be rejected. Proposals for individual papers and posters will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

Relevance and importance of the topic
-
Research design or conceptual framework
-
Organisational clarity
Notification of acceptance
Authors will be notified of the acceptance or rejection of their proposal in mid-May 2026.
